London is welcoming spring in style with a chain of Easter events throughout the long weekend. It’s beginning to look a lot like Easter on London Streets and shops. Giant chocolate cartoon characters popping out from Pimlico window shops, chocolate eggs and bunny rabbitdisplays at Victoria Station shops. London is turning into Candyland for Easter 2014.
There are hundreds of families traveling into London to celebrate Easter.We travelled around the capital asking people from different walks of life, their views and plans on celebrating Easter in London this year.‘Who says Easter is only for kids?’ says Emelia a waitress at Treats Victoria, ‘My whole family is coming over to celebrate Easterfrom France and we’respecially looking forward to the big Egg Hunt taking place in Covent Garden.’
Jaden an entrepreneur will be taking his wife and kids to see the Gentoo Penguins celebrating Easter at the Sea Life London Aquarium. But there are also Londoners who’ll find ways to celebrate the spirit online. Carol a student, won’t be having anyone visiting her as she has to prepare for her exams taking place in June. ‘…But I’ll definitely connect with my family and friends via Skype over the weekend and have a chocolate bunny.’ She smiles.
Samira is giving her parents a surprise for their 40th wedding anniversary which happens to be on Sunday that week. She has booked a hotel on Belgrave Road Victoria (You may guess which one) for three nights. Their stay will be complimented with a box of chocolates. ‘I’ve booked tickets to a theatre show near Victoria Station post which we’ll have a family dinner on Victoria Street’ she said. Saira’s parents don’t even have a single clue how great this Easter is going to be for them.
